The SDG Game, a new way of teaching sustainable development
This is an extension of the project “Simulation Of Our Common Future (2030 SDGs Game)”(see “Completed projects”). The project team wants to make the 2030 SDGs Games method accessible to students and lecturers across all faculties and thus promote education in sustainable development at Bernese higher education institutions.
In a playful way, learners become aware that in order to implement the Agenda 2030, society must think beyond its own goals, recognise the impact of its actions on the world’s development and make good decisions. Based on immersive learning, the format goes beyond cognitive learning of systems knowledge and fosters transformational knowledge. The participants experienceand shape systems change while being part of the system.
