Trees in urban areas - launch for schools

In the “What trees do in urban areas” project, information boards, fact sheets and teaching materials for cycles 1-2 on a total of twelve topics were developed in order to raise awareness among children and adults on the topic of trees in urban areas using this information system in a target group-oriented manner.

The aim of this follow-up project is now to launch the information system, make it known and make it accessible.

The entire board parkour with twelve boards will be realized in Bern as an illustrative example. A website will also be set up on which all available documents will be centrally accessible. An overview map is also being prepared on the website, on which various locations of the realized board courses as well as the respective topics covered can be displayed. Based on these foundations, networking with networks on education for sustainable development (ESD) such as éducation21 and Pusch will take place with the aim of making the information system known via their platforms and ideally also making it available.

Finally, the system will be presented at various schools in the canton of Bern and in the “Master's degree course in didactics NMG + NE” by means of presentations.
